Jeff and I celebrated our 40th wedding Anniversary on April 7th. Took the family to Maggiano's for dinner.(All 15 of us) Had a wonderful time. Jeff and I bought each other new bikes. Now if spring would finally arrive, we could ride.

Working on a few crafts. A hoop with cut out material flowers and a couple birds. Rearranged my Amish pie pantry.

Finished two crocheted blankets. 

Started my garden seeds 10 days ago. They are really doing well. I planted artichokes, tomatoes, broccoli, parsley, arugula, kale, and Brussels sprouts.

And of course I needed a spring wreath for the front door.

Happy New Year

Hello and Happy New Year to all of my blogging friends. I have been once again working on my embroidery projects.

Getting lots of new books with ideas from the library. I have done lots of towels and now I am working on a table runner.

Also started doing some "Redwork" Found a cute shop in South Carolina and bought all the materials to get started. However I do get bored with just one color........ red.

Found some vintage valentines and made a wreath. Hope everyone has a safe and healthy New Year. Hope to blog again soon if I can pull myself away from Pinterest!!

Merry Christmas

It has been too long since I have posted on my blog. Time gets away from me....fast. I have been busy making homemade garland for my Christmas tree and table top.

This is just old book pages cut into strips, glued and then dipped in glitter. I added old lace just before stringing them on jute cord.

Cut and sewed linen and then added beads.

Jeff and I took two trips in the fall. One to Williamsburg Virginia and the other to Charleston, South Carolina. We had never been to either place. Lots of history and a civil war battle re-enactment.

Vacation Days

Our vacation to Mackinac Island was great. Perfect weather and a ferry ride to the island. We went with our son, Matt, and his family.

Once on the island we walked to the Grand Hotel. The lobby is unbelievable as well as the grounds surrounding the hotel.

Next was a day trip to Lake Geneva, Wisconsin where my best friend, Bebe, and her husband have a summer place. They just bought a new boat and we had quite a ride. Toured the lake and saw amazing homes. Bebe had a book that told of the homes history.

Hey, I finally finished my crocheted purse.

Thanks to Karen for hosting the WWC party. This is where I spend a lot of my free time when I am not working as a librarian or playing with grand kids. I love all sorts of crafts and learning new things. And also checking on all of your blogs where I get  lots of inspiration.

This room is bright and  feels comfortable.

I have a real love for all crafts, especially embroidery work.

Tea towels

 I have also been working on "Locker Hooking" a rug of left over fabric.

I also do a lot of knitting and crocheting. Crocheting is my favorite and I have been working on rugs.

Also a crocheted purse.

I made this paper wreath out of my favorite hymns from our Sunday bulletins. I added some of my favorite buttons from my large collection.

Linens are another thing I collect. I have many of my mother's.

I like to collect crochet hooks, knitting needles and hat pins.

I took several basket weaving classes and have made over 200 baskets.

I love to read books and also all those very cool Somerset publications.

I have made several paper flower wreaths, burlap wreaths and runners and crocheted chair mats.
